God’s Approval vs Man’s Approval [How to Stop Seeking Approval From Others]

Seeking God’s approval vs man’s people approval will free you up to be unstoppable as a leader and entrepreneur but it’s so easy to fall into seeking approval of man. God’s word has a lot to say to us about seeking the approval of man over God and the reason is because we all struggle with it. People are here and now in front of us and we can fall into wanting to please people, meeting the world’s timeline and desiring to live by society’s expectations but this will hinder us from obeying God and following His lead.

God’s way’s are opposite of the world’s ways so if you want to follow Jesus it’s guaranteed you will have to draw a line in the sand and seek only God’s approval vs man’s’ approval as you go. If you don’t draw that line in the sand you will be in conflict with obeying God when the world is telling you to do something else. The only way around this is to choose clearly and completely for yourself that will seek God’s way over the world’s way and never look back.

I always remind myself that nobody else will be standing next to me when I stand before God at the end of my life. I can’t point the figure at one else or at the world in the end. I can only be fully accountable for my choices to obey God and listen to Him or to fall into the ways of the world and go with the flow of the world. As Jesus said in Matthew 7: 13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” so that path is not meant to be easy.

God’s word also says in Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. Which is exactly why we need to lean not on our understanding! So if you want to seek God’s approval vs man’s approval this episode will help empower you to do exactly that and to stay the course ahead of you!

Scriptures shared in this episode includes:

Acts 5:29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

Galatians 1:10-12 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

Matthew 16:23-27 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Matthew 7: 13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Matthew 5:43-46 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?

Matthew 10:17-20 (If you are falsely accused) But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

  1. Hi Mia!

I listened to you during the Be the Light conference and enjoyed listening to you so much! I’ve since listened to a couple of your podcasts and, wow!
Question please; I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit, if you will, since I was a child. However, I’m always in the thought process, the idea stage, always changing, never forward. I have a new hobby, card making, and would like to sell my items. I have an email and “business “ cards… I’m not a business. Do I need any licensure, etc. to sell under my chosen name? Can I just start?? Best option to start a blog?

    Thank you very much!
